NOVI, Mich. — It took only six minutes into the first period for the crowd at USA Hockey Arena to erupt. With a primary assist on an odd-man rush, Detroit Catholic Central’s senior captain officially became the program’s all-time leading point scorer.
The Shamrocks went on to defeat Brother Rice 6-0, but the night belonged to their veteran leader, who has been the heartbeat of the team since his freshman year. “It’s an honor, but the goal is still a state championship,” the senior said during the post-game ceremony. Catholic Central currently sits atop the Michigan Division 1 rankings with an undefeated conference record.
