MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — The “State of Hockey” is heating up as the calendar turns toward February. The Blake School sent a clear message to the rest of Class A this past Saturday, dismantling Delano/Rockford in a 10-1 rout. Not to be outdone, Class AA powerhouse Edina continued its march toward another state title berth with an 8-0 shutout of Eden Prairie.
The focus now shifts to January 22, when Edina will host Warroad in a matchup that could decide top seeding for the sectionals. With stars like Emily Pohl (Woodbury) showcasing elite form, the race for the Ms. Hockey award is becoming as competitive as the hunt for the state trophy itself at the Xcel Energy Center.
