METHUEN, Mass. — There is a new queen of the ice in Massachusetts. After a dominant 10-0-0 start to the season, Methuen/Tewksbury has officially claimed the No. 1 spot in the latest HNIB News Division 1 Top 10 polls. The Red Rangers have been nothing short of a defensive juggernaut, outscoring opponents 31-3 over their first ten games.
The shift at the top comes after former No. 1 Hingham (8-2-1) suffered a surprising 2-1 setback against Duxbury. While the Harborwomen remain a formidable threat, the Red Rangers’ clinical execution—highlighted by recent shutouts against Shrewsbury and HPNA—has forced the state to take notice. “We aren’t looking at the rankings,” said Red Rangers head coach. “We’re looking at the next shift.”
