SAN ANTONIO, TX – In a clash featuring two of the highest-ranked programs in the country, Cornerstone Christian (San Antonio) proved why they belong at the top of the national conversation. The Warriors successfully repelled a fierce challenge from Mater Dei (Santa Ana, CA) on Saturday, winning the match in a thrilling four-set battle (25-21, 23-25, 25-18, 25-20).
The Warriors’ victory was fueled by an explosive performance from junior standout Megan Fitch, who racked up 19 kills and 12 digs. The turning point came in the third set when Cornerstone’s defensive specialists, led by libero Alice Volpe, neutralized Mater Dei’s powerful outside hitters with a string of spectacular transitions.
“Matches like this feel like a state championship,” coach noted after the game. “Facing Mater Dei pushes our limits and prepares us for the postseason grind.”
The win keeps Cornerstone Christian undefeated in their last ten matches, solidifying their status as a frontrunner for the No. 1 spot in the MaxPreps National Rankings.
