DANVERS, MA – In a clash of titans that lived up to the hype, St. John’s Prep solidified its status as the team to beat in Massachusetts. The Eagles secured a gritty 3-1 victory over Catholic Memorial on Wednesday night at the Essex Sports Center, snapping the Knights’ undefeated conference streak.

The Eagles’ power play proved to be the difference-maker. Senior defenseman Brady Plaza opened the scoring with a blistering slapshot from the point in the first period, while goaltender AJ Farese stood tall between the pipes, racking up 31 saves against a relentless Catholic Memorial attack.

With this win, St. John’s Prep moves to the top of the MIAA Power Rankings. The victory not only provides a psychological edge but also crucial points for postseason seeding as the “Road to the Garden” (TD Garden) begins to heat up in February.
